MediaData is a space for the development and innovation of civic technology for research in mass communication. It is promoted in conjunction with the Department of Civic Technology and Empowerment. We are a multidisciplinary team of researchers that works on mass communication, artificial intelligence and big data.

The team consists of:
PhD and Bachelor in Computer Science and Master in Development Policies and Processes from the Polytechnic University of Valencia, where he is an Associate Professor. In terms of research, he has made communication his subject of scientific study, with special interest in electoral communication. This work is strongly linked to his activity as a civic hacker and political activist in favour of citizens' empowerment. He is currently the Director of the Department of Civic Technology and Empowerment.
Bachelor in Computer Engineering and Master in Parallel and Distributed Computing from the Polytechnic University of Valencia. He currently works in the Flowable product team developing the messaging and process management platform. He has previously worked in several companies dedicated to the analysis of financial data at a global level. Father of three, in his free time he teaches data processing within Master's programmes at the Polytechnic University of Valencia and the University of Valencia. He also occasionally works as a consultant for businesses.
Bachelor in Computer Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Valencia, Master in Computer Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, and Master in Data Science from the Kungliga Tekniska Högskolan in Sweden. He has worked as a software developer for several companies in the sector. He has collaborated on various civic projects such as QuartVotaBOT, the first bot for Telegram used in a referendum in the municipality of Quart de Poblet, Valencia. He currently works as a researcher for Telia Company, the main telephone operator in Nordic and Baltic countries.
Bachelor in Computer Science, Master in Content in the Information Society and Specialist in Digital Creation and Multimedia Communication from the Polytechnic University of Valencia, where he is an Adjunct Professor. Professional Expert in Document Management applied to Open Government by the Documentation Sciences Foundation. His professional activity focuses on ICT consulting for businesses, application development, and data analysis. As an activist, he works for transparency, open data, and citizen participation and empowerment.
José Joaquín Rodríguez
Bachelor in Mathematics from the University of Alicante, and Master in Big Data Analytics from the Polytechnic University of Valencia. He is passionate about new technologies and their application towards creating an egalitarian world. A self-styled civic hacker, he has participated on several projects using technology for citizen empowerment (available on GitHub). His professional activity is as a data scientist, currently working for Sabadell Bank.
Bachelor in Computer Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Valencia, Executive Master in Business Administration from ESIC, and PMP from the Project Management Institute. He has worked for firms outsourcing IT services: as a consultant on Methodologies, Quality and Processes, and in the management of large scale services for the public and private sectors. He currently focuses on helping businesses in their process of digital transformation.
